News & Notes

Happy Summer to Our Readers and Writers

SWC will be taking a bit of break over the next couple of months. There will be no library meetings until September 7th. Members will continue to meet in various ways via their groups, the “Rabbit Hole” and at a few night markets. Revised dates to be be announced.

For your summer reading consider the short stories and poetry to be found in our anthology collection by local writers. Our books can be found in the Sooke Region Museum gift shop, the Gallery by Sooke Arts Council and at the Sooke Night Market on specific dates announced on social media and the website.

Sooke XO is our latest anthology. With over 27 writers participating there is something for everyone. To see the rest of our collection visit our shop page.

Our Mission

To provide support, connection, inspiration and encouragement to writers* at all levels of development in the Sooke region through membership services which include monthly meetings and community outreach in the form of student writing contests, workshops and readings.
