News & Notes
Support your writing, support you!
For members and those considering membership – your writing life can be supported and enhanced by being part of a writing group. Take the opportunity to share and learn by giving and receiving feedback on writing, discussing your writing process with other writers and sharing what you have learned as you move towards publishing your work.
SWC is moving into 2024 with a mix of Zoom and live meetings with dedicated groups for prose (short, long/book and memoir), poetry (practice/feedback as well as a dedicated chapbook group), and just getting together – AKA falling down the rabbit hole. Join us at one of our general meetings, ask questions, explore what other writers are doing with their writing and in their community.
We are also planning a day of workshops and inspiration in June, anthology #11, poetry chapbook #4, launches, gatherings, markets and readings.
There could be more in store for 2024 so lets plan!
SWC annual membership: $35
The membership year runs January to December – join now for 2024
To provide support, connection, inspiration and encouragement to writers* at all levels of development in the Sooke region through membership services which include monthly meetings and community outreach in the form of student writing contests, workshops and readings.
