Still Breathing is the manifestation of eleven Sooke writers after months of discussion, writing, and feedback sessions. The group began to meet last September to discuss themes, concepts and the writing of poetry.  Eventually, influenced by current events, we settled on the concept of community, compassion and connection. And, to no surprise, everyone approached it in different ways. Eleven poets, twenty-four poems = a chapbook of poets reflecting on compassion and hard times

Our Mission

To provide support, connection, inspiration and encouragement to writers* at all levels of development in the Sooke region through membership services which include monthly meetings and community outreach in the form of student writing contests, workshops and readings.
