Scribblers – Sooke Writer’s Collective Anthology One – Contents include stories, postcard stories, poetry, and creative non-fiction by collective members, as well as the winning entries from the 2014 Edward Milne Community School student writing contest. Proceeds of sales go to future EMCS student writing contests, a 2015 anthology, and future writing events in the community.
The History of Leechtown – Part I by Bart van den Berk – based on the authentic journals and letters of the Vancouver Island Exploring Expedition (VIEE) members. Central to the book is the most celebrated gold rush on Vancouver Island and the resulting establishment of Leechtown .
Juvenile fiction novels by Angela Dorsey – stories full of heart, adventure, the love of horses, and now and then, a touch of magic. Angela has had over 3 million novels for adventure-loving girls translated and published around the world. Two of her series and additional novels will be available.
Various art offerings by Collective Members – handmade journals, art cards, and paintings, plus garden art by guest artist Elaine Miller, the recent winner of the Children’s Choice award at the 2014 Sooke Fine Arts Show. She’ll be demonstrating painting techniques and some art projects for kids. Also watch for dragons of the west coast, art prints from the series “Fantasy in the West” by Paulina Pallot – a whimsical meeting of dragons and natural elements found on the West coast.
