A talk on Branding and promoting your work and yourself as a writer

Branding and promoting yourself as a writer is a similar process. Doni will discuss tips and ideas to create and promote the story about an important character – yourself!

Includes:

-Thoughts on branding yourself and your work (creating and building your reputation)

-Engaging with your audience (readers, professional contacts, influencers)

-Promotional tactics and channels (e.g. social media, blogging, email and the good old-fashioned ways that still work)

Doni Eve has a “lifelong passion for promoting the people, places and spirit of our awesome community” and her background includes a Bachelor of Journalism (Hon) degree from Carleton University; Graduate Professional Certificate in Public Sector and Non-profit Marketing from Sprott School of Business; Marketing Your Small Business from West Shore Learning Centre and 25+ years of professional work in journalism, communications, public relations, health promotion and social marketing. Doni contributes her marketing and communications expertise to Saseenos Communications, a volunteer service dedicated to helping Sooke-region artists, volunteer organizations and small and home-based business share their stories – for free!
