About our Latest Anthology

From the Anthology Lucky Number Seven:

The title of this anthology “Lucky Number Seven” came about by some cheerful group brainstorming. “Lucky” seemed a way to celebrate our tenacious pursuit of writing and our collective spirit. In many cultures the number seven is associated with luck and magic. In numerology, seven is a seeker, thinker and associated with truth finding. All these things also describe a writer.

Since mid-March 2020 and at the writing of the passage, we have been isolating in the midst of a pandemic due to Covid-19. We were used to meeting at least monthly and sometimes more often. Now, we gather virtually to maintain our connection, our faces glowing on various screens. Writers are essentially a reclusive lot but we still need connection and support as we process our writing.

Our eclectic collective has grown to thirty-one members and we continue to share, support and get the word(s) out. The writing in this anthology was created before things went sideways. The eighth anthology might show deeper markings of the world condition. Anais Nin said “We write to taste life in the moment and in retrospect.” The year 2020 will be one for the books.
